So I decided I’m going to give this little project of mine a try. You know the 365 days project people have done all around tumblr and such, where you try and take a picture a day? It’s always interesting to see people try and start it up, only to stop it only after a few days :P But then a few months ago, I was browsing around my old ART 245 class blogs, only to find out that one of the girls in my past art class not only did the project, but COMPLETED it as well. All 365 days, all 365 pictures. Every single day of the year. Damn. Now that’s what you call dedication. And quite an accomplishment, since she’s the only person I’ve known to have done it. So now I’m going to try a variation of it, “365 days, 52 weeks” where I’m pretty much doing the same thing, but on a weekly basis. Probably more easier for me to manage anyway XD
I guess you can say because of her I really wanted to give it a shot myself and see how long I’d last haha. I’m not necessarily a good photographer, nor do I have any fancy DSLR camera equipment, but I’ve always like taking pictures (especially ones that I’ve ninja’d in) because to me it’s not necessarily about how high quality of a picture I can produce; it’s what kind of raw moments and memories I can capture in that split second my finger is on that shutter. Some may disagree with me or say I’m doing a shoddy job at what I do, but you have to realize as someone whose always been forgetting crap here and there, I just want to be able to capture something from the past and save it so that when I’m talking to others, I’ll actually remember it detail by detail instead of just a vague blur in my mind. So maybe, just maybe, if I can capture a snapshop of that memory for the future to see, then I can say I’m happy with what I’ve done :)
Haha, aspirational reasoning aside, I just moved out of the dorms and finished my first year of university! So to celebrate, a bunch of friends and I decided to get together to eat at the school cafeteria one last time before summer vacation (i.e. “The Last Supper”). I ended up getting this lovely picture of Leilani with a cup to her face. Thus I am posting it and using it as this week’s pic :P Sorry for the tl;dr long text there. I just had a LOT to say heh
